Pricing & billing
Plans, payments, discounts and renewals.
- How does pricing work? — Spilix uses a flat yearly subscription rather than per-release fees. Your plan lets you distribute within its limits for the year; add-ons (publishing, Content ID, pre-save, etc.) are billed separately when you request them.
- What payment methods can I use? — International credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and the local payment methods Dodo Payments supports in your country. When you pay, you’re taken to a secure checkout page and returned to your Billing page once the payment is confirmed. Cash and direct bank transfers aren’t accepted.
- Can I use a discount code? — Not yet. Spilix doesn’t currently offer discount codes. When we launch promotions we’ll announce them, and you’ll be able to apply a code at checkout before paying.
- What happens if my card declines? — Renewal is paused until you update your payment method. Music that’s already live generally stays up while you fix billing, but new submissions can be blocked until the account is current.
- Can I upgrade my plan? — Yes — upgrade to a higher tier any time from Billing. You pay only the difference for the rest of the year. Downgrades aren’t offered — the only alternative is to cancel your plan.
- Does the 7-day trial need a credit card? — No. Sign up with just your email and explore the dashboard for 7 days: build releases as drafts, transfer your catalog, set up artists and smart links. Pushing a release to stores and buying add-ons require a paid plan — pick one whenever you’re ready. Nothing is charged automatically.
- Why is Spilix cheaper than DistroKid/TuneCore? — Spilix focuses on efficiency, with no big advertising overhead. A flat yearly subscription plus a 10% distribution fee on royalties — no per-release charges and no label-style revenue share — scales well with volume, and we pass the savings on to artists.
- Refunds? — No. All plan and add-on fees are non-refundable, including unused time after you cancel. You can turn off auto-renew anytime so you are never charged again; genuine billing errors (such as a duplicate charge) are corrected — email billing@spilix.co.
- If I cancel, will my catalog disappear? — Yes, once your paid period ends. Cancelling auto-renew keeps everything live until the end of the period you paid for; after that, without renewal, your releases are taken down from all DSPs. Royalties earned before takedown remain yours.
- Are add-ons required? — No. Add-ons (Content ID, Cover License, Pre-save, Fast Release, Publishing Admin) are all optional. Buy when needed, cancel when not.
- Discount on renewal? — Renewal keeps the same price you subscribed at. Spilix never silently raises prices — we notify 30 days ahead of any change.
